Does voice recognition really work?

Actually, it works quite well compared to a few years ago. Dragon and IBM both make great voice recognition software that allows you to speak to your computer as the software translates your words onto Word or WordPerfect documents. There are also other constantly expanding applications including the handy ability to verbally open and close programs. Some of the software comes with low-end microphones, but others don’t include them at all. Keep in mind you’ll need a sound card and if you plan on using your voice recognition software a lot while a noise-canceling microphone may be a good investment. It keeps background noise down, making your translations more accurate.
