Does Voice Changer Software support mp3PRO and Fraunhofer IIS mp3 files?
VCS does not support creating/saving audio files into MP3 format by the mp3PRO or Fraunhofer IIS codec. VCS, however, does employ the Windows Media Encoder (a freely downloadable media encoder developed by Microsoft) as one of its components in processing digital audio data to save/create/playback the MP3 files. When running VCS in Windows XP or earlier Windows OSs, this codec is presented under the name “Fraunhofer IIS MPEG Layer-3 Codec (advanced)” and is used for processing low quality MP3 files. But since Microsoft has stopped including the Fraunhofer IIS MPEG Layer-3 codec in its multimedia framework from Windows Vista on, VCS does not currently support the use of this codec in producing MP3 files.
