Does Virtual Port mean that wireless isn a shared, broadcast medium?
No. Whether wired or wireless, all network links are ultimately shared. Just an Ethernet switch partitions a shared Gigabit Ethernet backbone among multiple users, Virtual Port partitions a shared radio channel among multiple users. Both switched Ethernet and Virtual Port regulate this sharing to ensure that each client receives a guaranteed amount of bandwidth without contention. And both make it easy to add capacity by stacking multiple Ethernet switches or by stacking multiple radio channels.
