Does Virtual High School drop students?
Yes. Only through continuous communication can students be successful in a distance education course. Each instructor outlines the expectations for work submission per week. Therefore, it is essential that the student and teacher maintain regular contact. To ensure that our students are aware of this commitment, the three-part process below will be followed: Level One: · The teacher will initiate a phone call or send message to parent and student. · If the student attends next session and turns in all work, no further action is required. · If no improvement is seen, proceed to Level Two. · If parent/student do not respond to the contact within one week, proceed to Level Two. Level Two: · The teacher notifies the attendance clerk and counselor and requests a conference with the student, counselor, and parent. · If the student attends next session and turns in all work, no further action is required. · If no improvement is seen, proceed to Level Three. · If parent/student do not respond
