Does vinegar control dandruff?
On One Hand: Yes, it worksThere are several scientific reasons that back up the claim that vinegar effectively combats dandruff. Vinegar has ingredients that attack oil and grease as well as bacteria and yeast, all of which can lead to dandruff. On the Other: No, it does not workThe vinegar remedy does not produce results for everyone, especially those with a severe case. Severe cases of dandruff commonly result in an uneven ph balance that needs more than just the acidic affect of vinegar to clear up.Bottom LineUsing vinegar for dandruff is one old home remedy that has been backed up by science and reported to work over and over again.
I never heard of it controlling dandruff, but a vinegar rinse, 1/2 water and 1/2 apple cider vinegar, will acidify the scalp and cause less itching…as for the control of dandruff, I don’t think it would do that…..If your dandruff is not too severe, try the vinegar rinse after you shampoo, and don’t use any conditioner as the vinegar will keep your hair soft……just do not rinse it out!!!!! the smell will go away instantly……….
