Yes. Veranda Premium Composite Fence must be gapped between the panel edges and posts to allow for expansion and contraction. Allow a 3/8″ gap between the panel edge and post. The innovative fence bracket is designed with an expansion tab in the back that helps maintain the 3/8″ gap and allows the panel to expand and contract with changes in temperature. This tab must not be hammered down. In addition, the screws on each side of the fence bracket that attach to the fence panel must be installed loosely, allowing the panel to “float” within the brackets.
