No. The veneration of Mary came from the early church. The documents in circulation that each church had in its possession were considered in the compilation of the New Testament. One of the documents was the protoevangelium of St James who addresses the exact nature of the Blessed Virgin, tracing her upbringing from before she was born, explaining in more detail what the 4 main gospels omit, and which many Christians yearn to know. Not much similarity considering that the “earth goddess” was worshiped, while Catholics are absolutely forbidden to worship Mary, or anyone other than the one true God. That would constitute idolatry, which the Catholic Church absolutely condemns in every form. Which anyone can easily discover by looking it up in the Catechism of the Catholic Church.
