VelocityHD supports direct IEEE-1394 ingest of content from HDV devices. VelocityHD supports both 1080i and 720p HDV material, and enables HDV content to be mixed seamlessly with other HD formats on the timeline. Upon ingest, the HDV content’s native long-GOP MPEG-2 format is transcoded into VelocityHD’s variable-rate LWC-1 compression format, alleviating the challenges associated with direct editing and post production of the HDV format. Editing performance with HDV-originated material in VelocityHD will be identical to that with other HD formats.
