UTEP strongly encourages and gives preference to applicants who express a strong commitment to teach in Chicago Public Schools (CPS). UTEP does not currently require students to teach for minimum number of years. However, UTEP is designed for students who wish to make a career out of improving urban education and over 80% of our graduates choose to being their careers in CPS.
