Does using the maps function on the iphone cost money?
If you are referring to the built-in maps app, then no. The maps app is free with the iPhone monthly data plan from AT&T, which you are required to have with an iPhone. The App store and iTunes are free technically. You can open them and move around in them however, most everything IN the iTunes app costs money. The App store has free apps and apps that cost money. In the app store you will see a bar to the right of the app that will either list a price or say ‘free’. Obviously if it says ‘Free’ then its free and can be downloaded for free (data package from AT&T required). To download anything from the iTunes store or App store you need an account with Apple which requires a credit card number on file. NOTE: I saw that you are from Australia and I’m from the US. Everything applies, however the company AT&T will be different…dunno what phone company is used in Australia.
