Does using biodiesel harm the US petroleum industry?
The petroleum industry of North America has built a robust distribution network that puts necessary fuel within easy reach of over 300 million people for mobility, heading and power production. Adding biofuels to the product mix at filling stations can only increase the value of those distribution assets. As to production, the use of biodiesel will extend the usefulness of the world’s petroleum resources. This is important, because the unique chemical composition of petroleum from different regions has value for many other industries besides fuel that depend on the petroleum resource for plastics, medicines and other commodities. With biodiesel, everyone wins.
