Does URI offer a program for transfer students interested in pursuing a Bachelors of Science Degree in Nursing?
Due to enrollment demand, the Nursing program is closed to transfer students with the exception of the RN to BS program. This program is designed for registered nurses with an Associate Degree or Diploma in Nursing, who wish to complete their baccalaureate degree. The College of Nursing has designed an accelerated program that recognizes the academic credits from the student’s basic program. Nursing courses in this program are specifically designed for RNs and provide the opportunity to take graduate level courses in nursing or related disciplines in partial fulfillment of the BS degree requirements. The RN to BS program requires 120 credits for graduation. Credits from other accredited colleges are accepted; however the student must complete at least 30 credits at URI in order to earn the B.S. degree in nursing. Students are assigned a faculty advisor who will provide individual assistance in planning a program of study. For more information visit the nursing department online.
