No. As part of the United Nations and pursuant to the 1946 convention on the Privileges and Immunities of the United Nations, UNICEF is exempted from payment of taxes and customs duties. Also, in accordance with the Basic Cooperation Agreement with the Government of Bangladesh, UNICEF is exempt from payment of all forms of tax, VAT and custom duty.
