It can be somewhat more expensive for various reasons including: the equipment is more costly than that used in traditional liposuction, it has more of a marketing appeal, more areas can often be treated in one stage,and the surgical time can be longer. Ultimately, the end result is usually about the same as traditional liposuction techniques, but some surgeons prefer ultrasonic energy to aid in fat removal, especially in men or more fibrous fatty areas.
