Does UKMA want to force Britain to go metric?

0

In some areas of life such as safety, consumer protection and transport it is essential to have order. Today Britain has a confused mixture of units that is detrimental to the public. UKMA wants ‘just enough’ legislation to ensure that Britain gets the considerable benefits of using the metric system in trade, transport and safety. Obviously the units used in private (e.g. in kitchens or workshops) are up to the individual citizen. Language and literature will be unaffected.
