Yes. Uconn has had an unbelievable season, capped by an incredible effort in a 6 OT loss to a ranked team. There are no absolute rules in seeding such as “a #1 shouldn’t loss to team ranked 20th” or “a #1 can’t loss in the first game of it’s conference tournament”. The committee looks at the body of work. Uconn has won 27 games against all competition. Sure they lost to Pitt twice, but that is precisely why they still deserve it. All four Uconn losses came against RANKED teams (yes, Georgetown was ranked when they beat Uconn). Pitt lost to 2 unranked teams in the last 2 weeks! Uconn has earned the #1 seed and will get it.
