Does UBC sell the compost it produces?
No, UBC does not sell any of the compost produced by our In-Vessel Composting facility. Currently, the volume of compost we produce at UBC does not even cover the expanse of the gardens on campus! With the growth of the Organics Collection Program, we do hope to be able to produce enough compost for our campus landscape in time. That said, there are no future plans to sell or giveaway the materials produced to the community at large. Our operating permit is not a commercial permit for the University to distribute the compost to external parties.
