First, all empires eventually fail and collapse. It will happen to the American empire also. It will become arrogant, careless and uncaring, aggressive instead of defensive, and cruel. It will be overthrown. That is the lesson of 10,000 years of human history. America’s success proves more than anything the survival of the most selfish and cruel. USA has prospered through warfare. It is and has always been a war-economy. Without massive expenditure on the military, full employment could not be maintained and aggregate income will fall behind the expectations of the community. Since the Civil War, the military have dominated American politics, trade and industry, financial management and international affairs. The last thing the USA wants or needs is a prolonged period of international stability and/or peace.
