Does U-M have any R&D programs that are looking at developing alternative sources of energy?

The academic departments at The University of Michigan conduct research in these areas. We do have a 30-kilowatt array of solar panels on campus; however, Plant Operations in not involved with this type of research. We primarily deal with the maintenance and implementation of building systems.
