Does turning off the pilot light in our heater affect the oven?

as Joe said…these problems are unrelated…get the landlord to check the stove and water heater…as far as the room heater goes there is built in safety devices that are supposed to turn the gas to heater supply off if the pilot light goes out…accidently or on purpose…so turning the heater pilot off is not a factor in the other problems. when you turn on the stove…does the gas smell remain even after the burners start? or does it disappear right away…if it remains…DON”T use it…turn it off and get someone in the check it…if it goes away right away it just may be that slight delay of gas being supplied to burner and being lit…either way you should have someone come in and check everything out for safety purposes.
