LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) – The roadways are clear of ice now, but that wasn’t the case earlier Tuesday morning. From school delays and slick roadways, Tuesday morning’s conditions still have some local businesses working overtime. Starting around 8 p.m. Monday night, icy roads were causing problems all over town, and now local wrecker services are still busy cleaning up the mess. Tow trucks were all over town as cold weather collisions became a common sight on the icy roads. “Last night when I came in from work there were trucks that were jacked knifed and cars sliding off the road,” says Gregory Camp, a Lubbock motorist. Since 8 p.m., Lubbock Police Department says there were more than 100 traffic accidents. “We’ve certainly seen a lot more in previous years and it’s just the beginning of the season, we sure could have some more icy conditions, freezing rain,” says Captain Greg Stevens of the Lubbock Police Department. Out of those there were 19 with injuries and six hit and runs. Fortunate
