Does town’s new highway sign say Sackville?
KATIE TOWER – THE FINE PRINT The Sackville Tribune Post Art is open to interpretation, right? We all have our own strong opinions of what we think looks good and what we aren’t so crazy about. And although I’ve been trying to hold my tongue on one particular piece of public artwork that has recently become a new part of our landscape, I just can’t seem to bite down hard enough. Maybe I’m alone on this one; but I have to ask, is there anyone else out there who is as disturbed and confused about our new highway billboard signs as I? If this is part of Sackville’s latest so-called “coordinated tourism campaign,” then I must admit I’m a bit troubled by that fact. Sure it’s essential that our promotional signs stand out from the thousands of other billboards along the Trans-Canada highway. But I’m not so sure these images have that desired effect. And even though I’ve tried to be open minded and objective about their appeal, I find the signs are not as eye-catching as first expected and you
