No. Like all parents, parents with disabilities come in all shapes, sizes, colors and abilities. Most parents with disabilities are loving and competent parents and need no special support or services. However, for those parents with disabilities who do need information or support, there is very little available. The system of care for parents with disabilities and their children is remarkably undeveloped in most communities. Another tendency is to over-generalize issues of parents with disabilities, overlooking specialized accommodation/adaptation needs and cultural needs relating to deafness and disability.
