Does TIMS3 manage mapped network drives?
TIMS3 will work with mapped network drives but it does not manage mapping network drives. TIMS3 file access can be configured in either an “Open” or “Secure” Project environment. Mapped drives are supported through the use of Open project directories. Its encouraged for clients to use Secure projects which requires unmapped drives. The TIMS3 interfaces will gain access to these drives through Windows Sockets technology. Without mapped drives, users will have no “back door” to gain access to files stored within the TIMS3 system.
