Does this FDI Specification support all imageRUNNER devices?
No. The Foreign Device Specification For Port Connection Kit supports a limited set of imageRUNNER devices. These include: iR C5185 / C4580 / C4080plus i models; and iR C3480 / C3080 / C3380 / C2880 / C2550 plus i models. A related, but separate, FDI connection via a Copy Cable is supported by other monochrome imageRUNNER models. That specification is not currently available. FDI has two versions: 1) For Color imageRUNNER devices and connects via a Port Connection Kit; 2) for other imageRUNNER devices via a Copy Cable. The FDI Specification currently available addresses only the former connection method. Canon currently provides no support or specifications for the Copy Cable method or interface.
