Does the World Bank have an explicit Management/Knowledge Sharing (KM/KS) Strategy?
A Knowledge Sharing strategy is a part of the overall World Bank strategy. The current overall strategy is described in the World Bank Group Strategic Framework, January 24, 2001, which sets out a strategic framework for the World Bank Group’s work for the next 3-5 years. More specific directions are given in Strategic Directions for FY02-FY04 Implementing the World Bank’s Strategic Framework, March 28, 2001. The Knowledge Sharing strategy as a part of the World Bank overall strategy was first described in The Strategic Compact, A Plan for Renewal, July 1,1997. The Strategic Compact was approved by the Bank’s Executive Directors. The specific goals including knowledge management were described in the document Renewal at the World Bank September, 1997.
