No, our lofts are made from unfinished softwood 2×4, 2×6 and plywood. The shelves, desktop and safety rails are made from MDF (see next question). For staining the loft, we recommend using Minwax PolyShades all-in-one stain and polyurethane finish, it does a real nice job on all the boards including the MDF pieces. If you are looking for more environmental friendly products, consider using Timbersoy from DwellSmart. You are free to customize the loft any way you prefer.
