Does The Winona Daily News have programs that use the newspaper in school classrooms?
The Winona Daily News, through its Newspaper In Education department, has a variety of programs we provide to schools to utilize the newspaper in the classroom. Teachers who participate receive newspapers, the cost of which is underwritten in large part by The News. In addition, we provide free curriculum guides and handouts for their students. Many local businesses, individuals and organizations sponsor newspapers in the classroom through the Partners In Education program. To find out how to sponsor a class or how to get your classroom NIE program funded, call Robin Baertsch at 507-453-3550 or you can e-mail Robin at rbaertsch@winonadailynews.com.
