Does the Wii play all Game Cube games?”
The Wii is compatible with all GameCube game discs. The Wii hardware is a beefier version of the GC hardware, and when you load a GC disc, it shuts off the new parts and basically turns back into a GameCube. I haven’t heard of any compatibility problems, and the GC games I’ve tried in my Wii have worked fine. The flawless backwards compatibility was a major reason I chose the Wii over the 360 or PS3, both of which have compatibility problems with some old games. It’ll work with GC controllers, including the WaveBird (for GC and Virtual Console games), and memory cards (only for GC games); however, it won’t work with any other GC accessories. Your old video and power cords will be useless, and so will the Game Boy Player, modem, and broadband adapter if you have any of those. If your GameCube is dying, this is a great opportunity to upgrade to a Wii. Enjoy!
