Does the weather effect a mobile telephone signal?
At least 2 things about bad weather can degrade a mobile phone signal. Rain can partially absorb the radio signals and since the overall power output by the phone is weak, it can lose contact with the tower. Also during stormy weather ligntning and ionization in particularly low clouds can interfere and distort the signals between the phone and the tower.
