Does the WattManager® have any adverse effects on the HID lamps ?
All gas discharge lamps (e.g. HID lamps) experience Lamp Lumen Depreciation (LLD) over time. The arc creates high temperature inside the lamps and burns the electrodes and gases and creates debris, which coats the inside of the lamp. The debris coating builds up over time, which affects the illumination of the lamp. The WattManager® lowers the generated heat inside the lamp, slowing the accumulation of debris. This lower temperature also slows the disintegration of the lamp electrodes, hence increasing the lamp’s nominal life by approximately 30%.
