Does the VEPR have a machined Receiver?
The VEPR receiver, like the RPK upon which it is based, is of stamped steel construction. However, the VEPR and RPK utilize sheet steel which is 50% thicker than that of the AK47. Furthermore, like the RPK, the trunion of the VEPR receiver has reinforcements on each side which are not found on the AK47. This was necessary for the sustained fire of the RPK.
