Does the VA have a benefit called the “VA Aid and Attendance Pension?
No. The VA administers two disability programs under Congressional authority, the Service Connected Disability Compensation program and the Non-Service Connected Pension Program. Both programs offer additional special monthly compensation (SMC) or special monthly pension benefits that can be added to the basic Compensation or Pension benefit when additional eligibility can be proven. Special benefits are simply additional financial awards that can increase the amount of the basic disability program.
