Does the US export crude oil?
Absolutely, yes. There is a very interesting chart showing our monthly exportation of crude oil for every month from January 1920 to April 2008. The source is The Energy Information Administration, providers of official energy statistics from the United States Government. It’s interesting to note how many months during the 70’s (when we actually had a fuel shortage) that we didn’t export any barrels, yet just this year we’ve not only continued to export crude oil, but have increased the amount exported each month! The chart numbers are based on thousand barrel increments.
