Does the University of Virginia offer a major in Entrepreneurship?
Most colleges do not teach this as they cannot find teachers. To start, entrepreneurship cannot really be taught. It is either self evident or you never get it. You need this burning desire in your guts to make you want to do it. Most successful entrepreneurs never took a single business course in their lives. In fact, taking business in college pretty well makes a person useless to be an entrepreneur as all they know is big business. And the traits you need to succeed in big business are totally different than that needed for being an entrepreneur I know several successful entrepreneurs. One has a degree in electrical engineering and owns the company I work for. One has a degree in pharmacy and took his background music company public a few years ago using technology I developed. One is an emergency medical technician and he owns a company manufacturing high grade car amps. Myself, I tried to launch a business four times but I never had enough of the fire within me to succeed. so good
