Does the United States import or export calcium?
So, a couple of things to help the answer make sense: A. Metallic calcium is not used for very many things, and B. Calcium is very abundant in the rocks of the Earth’s crust, but C. Calcium is quite reactive, so most of it is in the form of compounds in the rocks, and D. The calcium containing rocks themselves are used as building materials. So, I am sure the US does not import calcium containing rock = there is plenty of it in the US. I am pretty sure that the US also would not export these rocks under most circumstances – perhaps some special building materials like marble, but that isn’t really calcium itself. And in terms of purified metallic calcium, since the US has plenty of active mining and a strong chemical industry, I doubt that there is any real import of metallic calcium. There might be a little export of it, but as I mentioned above, the metal itself doesn’t get used for much so there isn’t really much of a market for it. So overall, I don’t think there is very much expor
