Does the U3 Launchpad Password feature work on non XP or Windows 2000 operating systems?
No. This means that someone can’t defeat the password feature by simply connecting the U3 smart drive to a host machine with an unsupported OS. However, if the password feature is enabled, this means that you will not be able to access any data on the mass storage domain on a Mac, Linux, or non-PC platforms such as a car stereo or game console as examples. What happens if I forget my password? The U3 Launchpad is configured to allow a certain number of failed login attempts before it locks access to the data on the U3 smart drive. Once your drive is locked, the only remedy is to erase the data (and installed applications) on your U3 smart drive and either create a new password or disable password protection. Is there a limit to the number of login attempts? Yes. Each U3 smart drive comes with a pre-defined number of login attempts.
