Does the U.S. Supreme Court have too much power?

I think that the Supreme Court should not be appointed by the president as this will upset the checks and balances of the 3 powers in the Capitol. The Congress, Presidency, and Judicial system should be able to “check and balance” each other in terms of power in order to avoid the unbalance in power that many other nations are experiencing.
