No. Obviously anything “extra” running on your server is going to use CPU time. The TSE running on a Pentium / 133 based server can easily handle 2000 frames a second with only a 5% CPU load… On faster servers the load is proportionally lower. The CPU time used by the TSE is negligible. Using connection oriented rates does increase the CPU load slightly because of additional housekeeping associated with maintaining connection information. However this work is done during CPU idle time, which is wasted anyway.
