Yes. Through the Final Agreement, federal and provincial laws apply on Tsawwassen Lands, including provincial laws in respect of matrimonial property. This ensures that a complete legislative regime is in place.The Tsawwassen First Nation has law making powers with respect to land management, ownership and disposition of estates and interests. In the case of matrimonial real property interests, where there is a conflict between a Tsawwassen First Nation matrimonial real property law and a federal or provincial law in this area, the federal or provincial law will prevail to the extent of the conflict.
