Does the trauma system allow trauma transfers from a designated trauma hospital to an undesignated hospital?
The philosophy of the trauma system is to allow transfers of trauma patients only between designated hospitals. However, since the System is still in the development stage, the requirement to transfer only between designated hospitals will not go into effect until July 1, 2009. This will afford all hospitals in the state adequate opportunity to seek designation.
