In accordance with Town Ordinance, all solicitors must be issued a permit from the First Selectman’s office. This permit contains the name of the person soliciting, the company name or which they are working for and the permit expiration date. If you wish to verify the legitimacy of a solicitor, contact either the First Selectman’s Office at 342-6715 or the Portland Police Department at 342-6780.
