Does the TI 89 Graphing Calculator do derivatives?

YES, it does. That was one of the reasons I bought mine. It comes in handy when you want to check your answer. Of course, teachers want you to show your work, but at least you can know if your final answer is correct. The TI-89 is a great calculator. It can do everything in the Calculus series (Calc I, II, and III). Another handy function is that it can calculate indefinite integrals. Sometimes the form of the answer will be different, but you can usually manipulate the answer to look the same. Sometimes when I was stuck on a problem, I would integrate it on the calculator. Looking at the answer would usually give you hints on how to start the integral. I wouldn’t bother with the TI-92. The 89 does has most of the same functions (like I said above, it can do everything you need it to for calc) and the cost is only half of the 92. I think it’s about $150. I believe it’s the TI-89 titanium now. I’m not sure how that differs from the regular TI-89. I would assume it still has all the same
