Does the tenant have the right to change the payment method without the landlords/agents consent?

0

During the life of their claim, a tenant may choose to have their Housing Benefit entitlement paid directly to them instead of to the landlord/agent. If this happens the Benefits Service will, as a matter of good practice, try to inform the landlord/agent in writing of the tenant’s new payment arrangement. If the landlord/agent has information which would suggest that the change in payment arrangements should not take place then they should let the Benefits Service know immediately.
