The teacher has to be able to speak, read and write Hebrew. The material for the teacher is written in Hebrew and the training is also in Hebrew. This does not necessarily mean that the teacher has to be a native Hebrew speaker. Many Chalav u’Dvash teachers learned to speak Hebrew in the Diaspora.
