The BRITA tap water filter cartridge will remove some but not all of the calcium which is present in water in the form of temporary hardness as Calcium bicarbonate, Calcium in the form of permanent hardness (Calcium Sulphate and Calcium Chloride) is not removed by the BRITA filter. The amount of calcium remaining in the water will depend on a number of factors including the composition of your tap water (your water supplier may be able to help you with this information) and the amount of water passed thought the cartridge. It is therefore not possible for us to give an absolute reduction figure for your tap water.
