The hospital must provide the TAC with a discharge summary within 7 days of the client’s discharge. The cost of a discharge summary is included in the bed fee rate. Same-day patients do not require a discharge summary. Rehabilitation hospitals should include the total FIM (Functional Independence Measure) score on the discharge summary.
