Does the status of my capital campaign impact Kresge’s grant decision?
Kresge’s new Institutional Capitalization Program is a shift away from the traditional facilities and capital campaign-focused grants of the past. Many of the Facility Investments projects for which applicants may petition this program may very likely include a capital campaign. While the Arts and Culture Program Team may be more flexible about the stage of a capital campaign in which it would like to participate, it was observed in the first round of applications that many organizations were in the beginning stages of a campaign. The Arts and Culture Program Team would like to stress the importance of community and stakeholder involvement and support in an organization’s project development. Comprehensive planning should demonstrate how the proposed facilities investment meets a community’s values and needs.
