Does the State of Maryland require consumers who own cemetery lots to be informed when the cemetery is sold to another owner?
If the consumer has also purchased preneed goods or services, Maryland law requires each buyer of a preneed burial contract to be advised of the buyer’s options under State law in regard to the preneed contract when a seller of preneed goods sells its business, files a petition in bankruptcy or ceases to operate.
