He takes cognizance of the registration of Political Parties made by the Election Commission of India and treats them as such for the purpose of election to Z.P. and U.L.Bs. Q.54. Ans. No. Such election petition will lie to appropriate courts to adjudicate as prescribed under the relevant Acts and rules. Under Article 243(O)(b) and 243ZG(b) of the Constitution, no election of a member to PRIs/ULBs shall be called in question except through an election petition presented to such authority and in such manner as is provided for by or under any law made by the Legislature of a State.
